Modern Warfare 3 Quick Scope Tutorial
Are you also tired of being the guy on the "other side" of the sniper rifle scope in Modern Warfare 3? I know I was and that's why I decided to become a quick scoper myself. If you play MW3 multiplayer, chances are pretty good that you have been picked off by an opponent using the MW3 quick scope tactic.
I know when I was constantly getting one shot killed by these hooligans running around the map firing off high caliber rounds and not even aligning the sniper cross hairs on me I became furious. I was yelling at the TV so loud I got a noise complaint from my neighbor in my apartment complex, and I even threw my controller across the living room into the wall in outrage!
This was all because I was trying to combat MW3 quick scope players with traditional guns and defenses, and not really understanding how to use MW3 quick scope tactics to my advantage.
A good MW3 quick scope class along with a few hours of practice can go a long way, but if you want really ramp up your MW3 multiplayer results like I did, I would recommend you get the Kosh MW3 Guide, and a MW3 Quick Scope modded controller. 4 Simple Steps to the MW3 Quick Scope
1. Line your opponent up
As you are about to quick scope an enemy you want to be facing directly at him before you even think about beginning to pull up the sights. The idea is to have him lined up before pulling the cross hairs up to the point where if you did squeeze the aim trigger his head would be directly in the center of the cross hairs. This does not have to be exact for quick scoping, but the closer you are the better your chances of not having to shoot more than one bullet.
2. Stop moving
This step may seem obvious, but I can't even tell you how many times I have come across a foolish player trying to MW3 quick scope as he is running and jumping around the map. If you are a serious Call of Duty player you have probably noticed by now that while moving your character the cross hairs on your sniper (or any gun) expand out wider then if you are standing still. This basically means your bullet will land somewhere inside that square area of the cross hairs, so obviously the smaller this area is the better chance you have at hitting your target.
It can also be beneficial to crouch, or even prone. I have seen effective quick scopers using a drop shot technique prior to shooting. If you decide to crouch or prone, it may also be more difficult for your enemy to hit you since you will have a smaller surface area available to hit. The disadvantage of entering the prone position is that if you are hit, it will most likely be a head shot!
3. Begin to pull up your sights
As you have your opponent lined up, and you have stopped moving it is time to begin you pull up your sights. This is the most critical part of pulling off the MW3 quick scope, and it is all about timing. It is a bit of an art and a science. Just as the sights are almost pulled up all the way, about 75% of the way through the process, you have entered the "quick scope range". Aim in until you can see the "black" on the inside your scope. You do not want the sights to pull up all the way and lock on to your target, as this will be a hard scope. Hard scoping is not recommended because it is actually much more difficult to kill your opponent using a hard scope lock on then a quick scope.
4. FIRE!
If you have done everything correctly up to this point, "ONE SHOT KILL" should be popping up in the center of your screen as you mark down another kill in the record books!
The easy route to a perfect MW3 Quick Scope every shot
The MW3 Quick Scope method in Modern Warfare 3 is extremely effective when you can get it down. As mentioned previously the most difficult part of this method is to get the timing right on when to pull the trigger as the scope is beginning to pull up and lock on to your opponent.
One method that many of the top MW3 players use to perfect this is using a modded controller. I bought the MW3 Quick Scope modded controller and gave it a "shot" or two, I'll be the first to tell you, if you get this controller you are going to ABSOLUTELY OWN. The modded controller has a feature to set the timing of the MW3 quick scope, your kill streaks will be set on auto pilot!
